Lunch with the girls is about to get a whole lot more stimulating, when you venture to my latest foodie finds. Introducing……….Foam café located at 25 Strand Street in Dublin.
The interior of this café is cluttered with every knick knack imaginable adorning every surface of this place. Think Alice in Wonderland meets granny’s snug sitting room to digest the décor at Foam Café. So yes a Mad Hatter’s tea party could be the viable way to summarise Foam Café.
When the menu consists of tea options like orange & coconut and vanilla tea, you know the guys at Foam Café brew a good cuppa. I don’t know about you but I don’t say no a tea party any day of the week!
For those of you with a sweet tooth, their cake menu is sure to tickle your fancy too. Hey what’s a tea party without a little (or large) helping of cake? The menu doesn’t just end at cake and tea because pizzas, tapas and soups are also on offer here too. Why not go all out?
Wander around the café, consume the fun surroundings and make sure you take a trip to the bathroom. Don’t ask why, just do it!
So if you and your girls like locally sourced ingredients, tea and cake options to beat the ban and want all this under one quirkified roof….Foam café is the one! Gain an insight into Foam and their menu at www.foamcafe.ie. Foam café is open Monday through to Saturday from 11.00am to 09.00pm and Sundays 11.00am to 08.00pm.
Another fitting option for a girl’s tea date is The Dog House Tearooms situated beside Howth dart station. It’s in the name after all! On their website they claim to be Dublin’s Bets kept secret so I do hate to let the “dog” out of the bag here but this place is far too good not to share with you.
OK I’ll cut right to chase as to why this place is so ridiculously awesome. Brace yourselves… The Dog House has an outdoor living room with a fireplace and to top it all off a…. BED. Yes its very own (and very comfy) bed for you to eat and drink on.
You can curl up here with a book from their open bookshelf and watch the world go by at a very relaxed pace. This got me thinking wouldn’t it be great if a restaurant opened up that had all beds in it instead of tables and chairs? People would never want to leave so it’s a clever business idea. Food for thought right there restaurant owners!
Anyway back to The Dog House and what options you have while you dine in bed. They offer customers pizza, specialty teas such as their Madame Butterfly tea (Green tea, Peach bits and sunflower petals) and snacks like grilled goats cheese and seafood chowder. To make the Dog House even more pimped out they offer their own range of cigars.
As the name suggests The Dog House is dog friendly so if the girls aren’t able to join you then your furry friend can. I can picture my little ball of fur (Missey) here having a whale of a time bouncing round on the bed, horsing into a pizza. Cuteness!
The Doghouse Tearooms is open Monday to Wednesday 11.00am to late and Thursday to Sunday 09.00am to late.
