A picture paints a thousand words! Hence why i have decided to title this post ” Pictures to inspire a trip to Hallstatt in Austria”. Sometimes its near impossible to find the perfect collaboration of words to describe how amazed and in awe of a place you really are. Its truly is a rare occasion when i find myself speechless, so you know this place must be outstanding when it has that effect me on. So in this post more or so i let the snaps do the talking….keep scrolling down to see why for yourself!!!
There is no doubt that sometimes those Instagram filters can mislead us, just as easy as it is to portray your face looking almost flawless, the same effect can be done when a shot of a destination goes up. All it takes is a lil splash of trustworthy mayfair, rise or hudson to excel a picture from a 5 to a 10 in seconds. I did have a sneaky peek at the hashtags of Hallstatt before going and i had to admit i was blown away(while still keeping the thoughts of how deceiving those filtered pictures can be, firmly in my mind).
Filters aside, i dont believe i have ever stood in such a beautiful location in all my travels to date- there i just came right out and said it! Personally i feel those filters on Instagram didn’t even do this alpine village the justice its deserving. I simply could not get over the beauty of this place and that fact that i had actually never heard of it previously. I also was gobsmacked at the fact this place isn’t riddled with tourists, for the most part there were only a hand full of Chinese ( dont they always know the best spots though?). This place is so mesmerizing that the Chinese have also built a replica village for themselves in China. Nicely played China! Hallstatt completely took my breath away and if another location ever tops that feeling, you will be the first to know!
Even the journey to reach Hallstatt is a spectacular one. If coming from Salzberg direction bus 150 to Bad Ischl will take you to the railway station where you can get a connecting train to Hallstatt station itself. Once at Hallstatt railway station you will take the most scenic ferry trip across the lake to Hallstatt village. The ferry cost 2.50 one way and the ferry is always waiting once a train pulls up. Dont you dare fall asleep for ANY of this transit journey be it on the bus, train or ferry. Just feast your eyes continuously out the window and you will be amazed.
Here i am blabbing away again(there really is no shutting me up) but as promised, the following pictures are armed with inspiration. I would never like to disappoint you dear reader so if you are not blown away by these shots, then please you need your eyes tested!!!
PS…no Filters have been used on the pictures. Oh yes it really is that unbelievable!
Here are a few buzz words to sum up Hallstatt……
